Turbo Tabla Show & Dabke Party with Karim and friends
at the Cayuga Vault in Santa Cruz (see www.cayugavault.com for directions)
The party begins at 7:30 pm with a free dabke lesson by Karim (folkloric line dancing).
Co-ed style; no previous dance experience required. Karim has an extensive background in various forms of dabke and has studied with some of the best dabka dancers in the U.S. and abroad.
From 8pm - 10pm: Live Performances by Karim (percussion & folkloric dance) and guest dancers: Sahar and the Serpentine Dancers, Adriana, Janelle & Desert Dream, and Rebekah
Plus lots of time for open floor social dancing to the unique mixes of DJ Turbo Tabla: Arabic Middle Eastern & Indian House/Electronica and Traditional/Old School Bellydance and of course dabke tunes!Tickets $15 Adv/ $20@ Door
